How to access your server with the SSH Key (For Linux Users)

Instructions

  • First, you need to install ssh on your system and create an ssh key, usually found in ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub.

  • You will need to know the IP address of the server you want to access.

    • Please visit app.cloudafrica.net and login to view your server and see the IP address.

    • You will need to open a terminal window to use ssh.

    • The command to connect to your server will look like this: ”ssh ubuntu@127.0.0.1” - where 127.0.0.1 should be replaced with your own server’s IP address.

    • Please replace the username and IP as needed.

OR alternatively;

  • Install ssh.

  • Create an ssh key.

  • Type ssh command <user>@<server-ip> eg: ubuntu@127.0.0.1. - where 127.0.0.1 should be replaced with your own server’s IP address.
